North of Willowra. All women dancing. Audrey has painted a women’s ceremony that show woman dancing in caves in her country north west of Yuendumu. The women use their coolamons (wooden bowls) to dance with to hnour their traditions with bush tucker gathering. The large U shapes are the caves, the smaller U shapes represent women and the oval shapes are the coolamons. The roundels represent camp sites. The surrounding dotting shows the different types of countryside. Her use of multi-coloured dots gives a wonderful 3-dimensional effect.
