Amberlindum Cattle Station. It’s Nov 1983, just before my 17^th birthday. I’m on horseback with my cousin, horse tailing was what he was doin, 9hrs riding, near the end on dark.

I’d just had my first drink of water at this waterhole, mounted up, ride for maybe 5 mins then there he was.

The white kangaroo, an albino, in our culture he is the Kaditja man, we run from him, he’s bad, he’s a sheriff, creator made him.

Oh I stared at him for ages, so majestic, so pretty, beautiful, for the first time in my life I’m face to face with magnificent creature, not realising at time he was a Kadijta man. Once realising who he was I bolted on the horse full of excitement but afraid. I ended up in hospital for 1 month with both kidneys full of boils, doctors in Alice Springs hospital could not believe it. Never seen it before.

The old man is always around me. He’s my old man, He’s the rainbow serpent all majestic also sent from creator. I’m the little butterfly face to face with the white kangaroo. The black hole in the corner is the old man’s home, I’ve been there seen it.
