Heather Anderson

In this painting Heather Anderson revisits the place where she grew up after an absence of many years. Alroy Downs station homestead is north of the Barkly Homestead on the Barkly Highway and about 270km NE of Tennant Creek NT where Heather now lives and where she works from the Barkly Regional Arts studios.
Heather is an accomplished colourist and this painting is evidence of her most recent explorations where she emerges from her normal style with the use of bold and vibrant colours to compose this memory.
As a chronicler of her childhood, family history and station life in the Barkly, Alroy Downs has been a frequent subject of painting for Heather.
