We have two kinds of leeches (“Baladj”) , one bigger one that liives on flood plains, and another smaller kind (“Namolokordbo”) that lives around springs in the monsoon forests. Everyone sees lots of leeches during the rainy season when there is water everywhere. Where we live at Gunbalanya there is a leech dreaming place on the other side of a floodplain where there is a rocky hill we call Nimbabirr. This dreaming site is on the lower ridge of that hill.
