Nora Nagarra

This country is Purnululu (The Bungles Bungles), located north of Turner River Station Country. Turner River is Nora’s familys country. Nora was born at Turner River Station and worked on the station as a young girl. Nora uses a series of dots to portray the undulation and geography of the country. The top section of the painting shows the “topway-hilly country”, near Turner Station. The two bands of grey below the that are the Rijal Hills. The green strip is Turner River. The final section is Picaninny Gorge located in the Bungle Bungles.
