Silas Hobson

This painting is about the shadow of our people, your shadow and my own shadow. We all have shadows. It doesn’t matter where we come from, what we look like, what color skin we have but our shadow is always the same dark black color. When the brightness of rays of light bounce off our body and the earth, we all have a shadow reflection. Our past history can be filled with many shadows of good and bad but the rays of light give us hope. As an Indigenous Australian artist, painting is my ray of light through the different shadows of my life. This is shadow through lights of hope.
