This image relates physically to the tali or sandhills in the Western Desert. The ancestral imagery in this painting is the other story that the artist is telling. During the Dreaming time of the artist’s ancestors, a group of men and women travelled through the desert to Kaakuratintja – Lake McDonald. When they arrived at the site a large hailstorm occurred and killed all that were in the aerea. This image relates to the occurrence of the hailstorm. It is now part of the Tingari cycle of events.
