Manegin Dreaming There was a happier time when life was ordered, and traditional clan values were practiced. Food was plentiful and diverse, and importantly, nature was in balance. My painting depicts the Freshwater Crayfish, the Seal, Mutton Bird, and Kangaroo, all of which were hunted for food by my ancestors. I recently returned to my people’s country, and gazed with amazement at the beauty and serenity of the Arthur River area in Tasmania. I gieve my lost connection to the past; for my ancestors; and a way of life that is now gone forever. This piece featured in Art Mob’s Sorry Day exhibition in February 2018.
