Door 5 (1/2 panels) – Muturnapardu Jukurrpa (Old Woman Dreaming) This story is about an Old Woman who was a giant and lived at Kanaji, a camp south-east of Yuendumu. She was called Warpalypardu. One night two old men were looking around for possums and when they searched her area of the camp the old woman crouched down out of sight. When the two old men left, the Old Woman came out of her hole in the ground, which was her home, and set off towards the west. She went towards Pikilyi, just south of Yuendumu, and she camped there, at the same time as Snake Dreamings went north. She had water carriers and coolamons, digging sticks, and clapsticks, which are shown in the painting. The Warrpalypakurlangu wirily (the giant woman’s footprint) depicts her journey from Kanaji to Pikilyi.
