Arleye Emu Man. The young man’s name was Pinaherraherre. He had two human wives. Pinaherraherre took the form of a man and at will could change into an emu. He loved his two human wives and they lived very happily together. An evil arrernte, a woman spirit, lusted afer him. He turned her down and refused to leave his wives. She out of spite, because she was evil, turned into an emu, an evil arrernte. His wives stayed with him looking after him. Two young men saw that the emu man was away many days and took advantage, stealing his wives, while he was away gathering food. The emu man chased down the two young men, he destroyed them and collected his two wives. While he was stepping over the oak tree he had destroyed with the two young men, he turned back from an angry evil emu arrernte to a proud young man named Pinaharraherre.
