This painting depicts a journey of the ancestral budgerigar spirits who travelled from east of Yuendumu across Central Australia during the dreamtime world creation period. They performed ceremonies and various other secret-sacred rituals in which the landscape was created and modified to what it is today. The important ceremonial sites of the Budgerigar ancestors are depicted by the concentric circle and the other designs depict the flight of the budgerigar and ceremonial body paint designs. Ewari Nungala is an elder woman in the community of Papunya. She has lived in Papunya for many years with her family and continues to do so today. Ewari is a skilled craftsperson and makes coolamons, music sticks, and weaves baskets.
