Papunya is a community about 250km west of Alice Springs. It was the home of the start of the dot painting movement from 1971/72 and continues to lead in this field. Art Mob showed paintings and prints initially from Warumpi Arts, then later on and now from Papunya Tjupi. Much has been written about this vitally important place and it was immortalised in the AGNSW’s 2000 exhibition “Papunya Tula – Genesis & Genius”.
