Hilda Nakamarra Rogers’ debut solo exhibition
Hilda’s lacelike depiction of lukarrara jukurrpa – desert fringe rush seed dreaming – is unique. Hilda maps her knowledge of the location and the structure of these grasses or sedges (Fimbristylis oxystachya & Fimbristylis eremophila) that have an edible seed. The seeds are collected and ground to make a flour that can be used to make pancakes – great bush tucker. We have been saving her work for this show and are now presenting 11 true collector’s paintings for your viewing. Choose your favourite before it’s gone!
