Douglas Dixon Tjupurrula Bush Potato 2007
Acrylic on canvas
610 x 915mm

Douglas is telling the story of Old Mick Jagamarra, his father, about bush potato. The U shapes are two women - a mother and auntie (father's sister). The women are digging as they travel around looking for Yarla or bush potato. They go north to a place just south of Warrikintjidi where they find an unusually big bush potato. They pull it out and today there is still the big hole where it was dug out. The central oval shape represents the big Yarla. The blue line is a creek with water.
