Roy Hunter Wiggan Ilma - Manawan (White Gum Tree) 2003
Acrylic on plywood, wool and wool fibre
1000 x 1370mm

It's the white gum tree - there are 2 types - one is marorlal - this is manawan. It shows the flower opening. When it's ripe to blossom it's how it appears. The middle piece shows how the flower comes out. The lower piece shows how the flower is round. These gum trees proliferate in the Bardi country and are a real spectacle when they are in flower.
