Marcia was born in 1960 at Santa Theresa. Her Mother was an Amatyerre/Aylawarr whose country was around Ross River and her Father was Arrernte born at Amoongana. She has three brothers and a sister. Her parents worked at Ross River Station. She returned to Santa Theresa at the age of six to attend school. She describes the mission as it was then: “People used camp on the East Side of Santa Theresa where the country was scrub. We went to school in the Tin House. :Marcia moved to Titjikala when she married and has two sons.
She previously worked with Keringke Arts, at Santa Theresa, producing silks and paintings. Marcia’s painting is characterised by fine dotting and circular designs.
Her Arwenge (Personal Dreaming) is Pidgeon Dreaming from Mt Ooramina, and other Altyerre (Dreaming) she paints are Yipperyene Dreaming and Snake Dreaming from mothers and fathers side respectively.
