Daisy Nakamarra Leura

Daisy Leura Nakamarra was born at Umbungurru Creek around 1936. Daisy was living at Narwietooma station with her husband Tim Leura Tjapaltjarri when the building program at Papunya started. Tim was s founder of the painting movement at Papunya. Daisy’s husband, Tim Leura, was one of the first artists to paint with Geoffrey Bardon. He was a renowned artist and taught Daisy to paint. At the beginning of Daisy’s painting career she helped Tim with background dotting on his work. Daisy is a respected elder has been painting in her own right since the early 80’s.
