Cynthia was born in Darwin and grew up in Maningrida. She moved to Coulburn Island when she married her husband, Ralph Gururdul to whom she has four children with.
Cynthia worked at Mardbalk Art & Craft Centre many years ago and is now working here again. She is very talented pandanus weaver and likes to make baskets, which she learnt to do herself. Cynthia also creates stunning shell jewellery from small snail shells found amongst the mangroves around the island.
In her spare time Cynthia likes to go fishing for Blue Bone fish and says that yams are her favourite food.
