Claude Pannka was born the family son of Anthapa and Sandra at Tempe Downs in 1928. He developed an interest in art when Battarbee visited Hermannsburg in 1934 and by 1950 was painting full time. His palate favoured earthy tones and works generally have an arid feel. His composition typically included a gum tree to the side. He passed away in 1972.
