Alison Anderson Nambitjinpa was born in 1958 of the Luritja tribe and began painting in the mid 1980’s. She was appointed Administrator of Papunya Community at this time. In 1999 Alison Anderson was appointed Commissioner of ATSIC for the Northern Territory Central Zone. She now resides in Alice Springs as well as Papunya and paints intermittently when time permits. Alison’s works have been represented in several major Aboriginal art exhibitions at the Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs as well as in the internationally acclaimed Holmes a Court collection.
