Abraham is the son of Bill Stockman, one of the original Pintupi Papunya painters, and Enjinika Nampitjinpa. His sister is Punta Stockman, also a painter with Papunya Tjupi. He was born at Ali Curung before his family moved to Papunya where he has remained all his life. He attended schhol at Papunya and Yirara College in Alice Springs. Abraham and his wife, Priscilla Brown, have two daughters. Abraham said he used to watch his father paint and then started himself when he was a teenager. He now works for ITEC helping with community projects. Abraham paints his father’s stories including Wild Potato (Yala) dreaming.
