Kutini Country – Cassowary Country My painting is about two clans coming together. The top part as you see is one clan which is Kutini (Cassowary) himself. The bottom part as shown is another clan in Lockhart River, Iron Range. The top place belong to my father’s side with the blue waterfall up in the range. The bottom part showing Iron Range belongs to my Mum and Nanny’s clan. In the middle of my painting you can see a high mountain top rich with wild plants, trees of every kind, birds, butterflies and wildlife. The top of the mountain looks like a cassowary’s cap (head) with the cassowary looking down into Iron Range. The two clans come joining together to be one big happy family. You can see the sunrise and sunset through the forest and shadows from the heat of the day. This is my Kutini country. My home forever.
