Peter Overs

This piece is a collaborative piece by Aboriginal artist Peter Overs and Julie Dickens who lives next door to Peter. Julie has taken Peter’s designs and constructed his Emu Dreaming in an innovative manner using mixed media including emu feathers on fabric. The resultant quilt or wall hanging tells Peter’s ancestral Dreaming – the Emu Dreaming. This work actually shows the junction of the Condomine & Little Balonne or Balonne Minor Rivers. The gold elements are the quandong seeds and the quandong fruit (bush plums) are the red items with the leaves.
